He is working now as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Computer Architecture and Telecommunications of the West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin. He is involved in the following research areas: digital image processing, recognition and analysis, methods of dimensionality reduction and image classification in biometrical applications, content-based image retrieval and visual surveillance. He is the author of over 60 scientific articles, chapters in books and conference papers.

His research activities are connected with image analysis, processing and recognition in many topics and applications, e.g.: shape description and recognition, fusion of various features representing an object of interest, Content Based Image Retrieval applications of image extraction and recognition methods in erythrocyte recognition, trademark recognition and retrieval, airplane silhouettes recognition, ear biometrics, binary images compression, 3D shapes, localisation of vehicles, license plates recognition, color and shape fusion for CBIR.
His scientific interests include hardware-software co-synthesis, high level synthesis.
His interests include auditory scene analysis and realization of digital signal processing systems.
